VICTOR

She could have been victim
She was abused;
She lived a hell
She didn't choose.

Tear-filled eyes
Don't despise;
For many years
She couldn't even cry.

This woman, this mother
Felt love consumed;
A mother's love
Constrained like doom.

Vowed for life
"For better or worse";
Understanding not
Her deadly course.

When marriage vows
Felt betrayals' sting;
What did it mean
That wedding ring?

The years drug on
No relief in sight;
Her abuse so cruel
Binding her tight.

He severed all friends--
Was she the devils prize?
The man called her husband
She grew to despise.

Feeling helpless and hopeless
The nights were so long;
Obsessed with her sexually
She's violated and wronged.

This man--her husband
Oppressed her raw;
An officer of duty
Defending the law.

Taking her victim
Unrelenting for want,
Self-serving and arrogant
Charismatic his front.

His wife "would-be" victim
Silent in wait;
Trapped and constrained
But really...the bait.

Caught in the act
What violent behavior;
His wife "would-be" victim
Now proving him traitor.

Rising with victory
Her innocence defending;
His prey is the victor
In truth now condemning.
